Description
The AbleTrack trackball requires NO use of the thumb or fingers! This is done by disabling the left and right hand switches that are already built into the AbleTrack when the new external hand switches are plugged in (the centre switch is active when used with the included software.
With the built in hand switches disabled (when the external switches are plugged in) it's easy to become accustom to not using the thumb or fingers. When the external hand switches are removed/unplugged from the AbleTrack it functions as a normal trackball with the built in switches now operational. With the AbleTrack, one hand is used to move the trackball and the other hand controls the hand switches instead of one hand trying to do both. Even if you use wrist or thumb splints, you can still use the AbleTrack easier than an ordinary trackball or mouse. And you don't have to worry about inadvertently pressing a switch on the unit because they are disconnected when the remote hand switches are plugged in.
The large 2 inch diameter trackball and 3 inch square remote hand switches can be easily operated by the palm or side of your hand so there is no stress put on the thumb or fingers. Even doing a 'click-and-drag', where you want to highlight an area for editing, is easier.
